Excellence in the Martial Arts" is important because we are talking about life. what good is it if we do not equip our students with what they need to effectively defend themselves and their loved ones. As a Martial Art this is a must and our biggest priority Martially. "Tempered by Righteous Character" gives students a moral compass which brings restraint.

Seigido Ryu is a Martial Art that blends Karate and
Jujitsu that bridges Traditional Martial Arts as its  
foundation with Street Savvy Self-Defense. This gives our  students an advantage. On average the best fighters have a traditional Martial Arts background as their foundation.

The traditional training brings discipline, stability, strength, and better balance, then, when combined with street savvy. It makes a more effective fighter. Now with that said, our  main goal is personal safety for our students to be able to  defend themselves and loved ones from physical danger.

Students learn to use their Martial skill only when necessaryand in a manner that is consistent with the law and only use  force that is necessary to stop the aggression. So it is important to develop both physical skill and moral character.

Bushido is a Japanese word meaning The Way of a Warrioror the code of honor or morals of the Samurai Warrior. Bu meaning Military, War-Like, Fierce, Firm, Violent. Shi meaning A Scholar, A Gentleman. Do meaning Way, Path,Doctrine, The path a person walks in life. The Bushidothat hangs in our Dojo is Loyalty, Honor, Courage, Virtue (purity of heart), Honesty, Kindness, Respect, and Justice (be just).
  
It is necessary for any civilized society to have a moral compass. Our moral compass does hold to the Bushido Code of the Samurai for all of it can be found within Christian and Hebrew teachings. But the foundation of our moral compass is from our Christian faith which flows from thelove demonstrated by Jesus. In the Bible, Romans 5:8 states“God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that whilewe were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus’ example is what we should follow to the best of our ability and it will stabilizing and strengthening our character, our life
